With joy, we were united with Sr. Ophelia Corpus in her thanksgiving for the 25 years of God’s fidelity in her life as a Pastorella Sister. The Eucharistic celebration was held last 29 June 2021, the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul in Imus Cavite.
The celebration was presided over by the SSP Provincial Superior Fr. Jean Marie Flores who said that celebrations such as Jubilees bring about in us the joy of being Pauline Family, which is a continuous challenge for every member of this marvelous family. The Homilist, Fr. Alan Gamutan SSP expounded on the beauty of the Religious Life which is a deepening of the gift of consecration which we received at Baptism. In the context of the celebration of the 500th year anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines, Sr. Ophelia and all consecrated persons are all fruits of the 500 years of Christianity in our country. Therefore we are all gifted I order to give.
Some family members of Sr Ophelia were present for the occasion and also some persons whom she worked with in the pastoral ministry. With the on-going heath protocols due to the Pandemic, we strove to follow the indications in order to protect ourselves and one another from the coronavirus.
We are grateful for the opportunity to be together. We were renewed through the meaningful and joyful celebration, a song of praise to the Lord for his faithfulness, his grace and his abundant blessing.
